October flew by. I didn't do much but play a shit ton of magic and work *insert shrug emoji here*. Claire and I did some fun fall stuff; pumpkin patch and the like. It was just one of those months you think back on and don't really know what happened. I finally finished themeing my PC. It looks pretty fucking cunt ngl. Here it is:
Oh YEAH! It was claire and I's two year anniversary. We got some tasty steak from Fogo De Chao. The meat was really good. It was a really nice anniverary. I love her :).
I've been trying to get into making music again too. Although, I think that will kick off more once Dean moves out. I have some ideas about turning my room into office + recording/production studio. I have to relearn a DAW as well. It seems like ableton isn't really an option on linux which is a bummer because I like ableton, or at least I know ableton. I think i'm going to give reaper a shot because it's pretty much freeware with a cheap fee if I decide I like it. I also might demo bitwig studio because I've had that recomended to me as a good linux compatible daw for ableton. I also need to figure out if my Zoom Mic can be used as an interface on linux. I imagine it can.
This week has been nice, mostly working. I've been watching a lot of Next Gen. I've been messing around with deploying Audiobookshelf. I'm having issues. For whatever reason my Docker permissions are all messed up and I can't seem to fix them. If that even is the problem. I think there is a good shot it's because i'm running docker in a VM. I don't think it should be an issue but I just can't get rw permsissions for my Docker Container on my NFS share; I've set the permissions properly all the way through, both on the share and container. I've tried mounting the NFS directly in the compose file as a volume, I am having the same issue. I've even tried to brute force and just 777 through. Although, I may need to do that on my NAS. That's just not an optimal situation; especially if one of my services is compromised. Anyway, life has been slow and stressful recently. So be it... I suppose.
So far endevour OS has been pretty enjoyable. I wish that I could forgo systemd completly but frankly dinit is just not there yet. Garuda linux was far to bloated for me. To the point where customization was annoying. Sway was the main reason for this. And for some reason GTk themes were just stuck?? Idk it was quite strange. Anyway River has been great the tagging feature took a little bit to get used to but otherwise it was great. There are some convenience things to sway/hyprland but honestly now that I'm used to using DWM type deal its much more enjoyable. Also, dwm is cool but X is not the future, that is for sure. Also, damn, having to learn C just to edit your environment lowkey wild.
